Case Study

Patio Garden & Pizza Oven

The focus of this garden is undoubtedly the outdoor kitchen, nestled under the canopy of a mature Silver Birch tree. We designed the garden as a whole and provided a scaled overhead plan and also produced a drawing to show the layout of the kitchen. The rendered walls and granite worktops of the kitchen are built around a commercial BBQ unit. The kitchen also features lighting, electrical sockets, a sink and bespoke oak cupboards. The real talking point is the pizza oven, constructed with high grade refractory concrete and sitting on a re-enforced plinth which was cladded with fire bricks. The fire bricks were also used decoratively to create the arches, the lower area providing dry storage for firewood.

Travertine paving slabs were laid throughout the garden and also used to cap the thirty two meters of retaining wall with two sets of built in steps. Oak sleepers were used to provide an area to the side of the house for herbs and vegetables whilst the rest of the garden was planted through membrane covered with bark chippings to reduce maintenance. We constructed a bespoke shed on site with a sliding door and replaced the fencing. We also installed an artificial steel edged lawn and constructed a bespoke chunky pergola on site using green oak.
